• Ableton has announced Live 8 which adds a lot of new features users have been clamoring for...
• Cycling '74 has announced Max for Live, which allows users to use Max/MSP directly from within Live to extend it's capabilities (create new instruments, effects, etc.)
• Access has announced the TI2 series of the Virus. I guess you can't argue with success, but I sure wish Access would do something more creative than just adding a few new features to the existing Virus engine every now and then and calling it a new product.
• Native Instruments has announced their new products: Maschine, an MPC-style hardware/software hybrid , Audio 4 DJ, apparently a sound interface for DJs, and GuitarRig Mobile, a hardware box that allows guitarists access to the GuitarRig effects without lugging around a laptop. Yawn. EDIT: I stand corrected, GuitarRig Mobile DOES still need a computer to run the software. Double yawn. Where's the innovation, NI?! By the way, if anyone is having trouble accessing the Native Instruments website because it is being overrun, MusicRadar has write ups on each of the products...
