The Verb, To Be

This one was submitted by reader Sunil. Some pretty cool Tangerine Dream-esque modular synth goodness from a guy in Tennessee of all places.

Goddam actual electronic music! Not some kid tweeking the cutoff knob over a lame sequence for 15 minutes. bless you Cybertron!

thanks for the shoutout Tom- i knew the fellow Waveformless denizens would laps this cowpoke right up... love that DOTCOM modular he is using. and some really beautiful sequences there. i wouldn't even know where to begin with something like that... a truly gnarly beast.

am i right in guessing that with a modular- you can never ever save your patches or sequences?

Yeah, that's correct. Sequences can be saved depending on the sequencer you're using, but I've never heard of a modular with patch memories and am not sure how you'd even implement that given all the patch cables...

so a truly momentary moment of beauty...never to be reproduced...

Well, that's true of pretty much all old analogs, not just modulars.
