New Rob Papen Products on the Way?

Plug-in and preset creator extraordinaire, Rob Papen made a post over on the KVR forum with cryptic mention of his next product which will be called Punch.  He wouldn't share much more than it will be a "speaker stressing" instrument plug-in.

Also planned for later this year is Blue II an apparently huge update to the already great Blue softsynth and the release of the long-awaited sound programming tutorial DVD many believed to be vaporware.

yeh, i've been wanting to pick up a copy of the sound programming dvd. the release date keeps getting pushed back... pushed back... pushed back. we shall see if it truly materializes.

Anonymous #2 - Hmm. I have to disagree. Maybe if all you do is rely on the presets, but if you take the time to learn to make your own and produce it properly, you can make any synth sound contemporary. Just look at the synth demos by Jexus on YouTube for proof of that. Personally, I still get tons of use out of Blue!

Still use Blue a lot actually. I'd like a new GUI,though. Thats the only thing I can agree with about the 'outdated' part. Tweaking from sub menus is starting to feel less and less practical these days for virtual gear.

I think Predator is fantastic, especially for bass, and it also has what is probably my favorite arpeggiator of any softsynth I own. As for them being out of date, I can only wonder what anonymous #2 is using these days, and why he thinks they're any better (especially for VA type stuff, what does 'out of date' even mean?)

I've always loved Papen's stuff. I've even owned his E-mu expansions back when I still had an XL-1. (tho those were kind of cheesy!) Still waiting to get a chance with SubBoomBass, but haven't had the time to learn another vst!
