Stillwell Audio Releases Bombardier Buss Compressor

Stillwell Audio has released a new plug-in for Mac (VST/AU) and Windows (VST) called Bombardier.  Bombardier is an RMS compressor specialized for laying across your master buss. In addition to a new 'bomb' algorithm said to produce instantaneous response while maintaining a smooth character, Bombardier looks to offer generous amounts of control paired with the gorgeous to look at user interfaces Stillwell is known for.  Bombardier sells for $59 for most hosts, or $39 for a reaper-only non commercial license.

Anyone interested in doing their own mastering/beefing up their mixes/demos would do well to buy Ozone. It instantly changed how my material is received at every stage.

...and that has exactly what to do with this compressor?

Just that anyone in the market for a master buss compressor would do well to check out the Ozone demo before buying anything else.

Ozone's M/S compression algorithms are pretty excellent, but I do really like the sound of the Stillwell stuff. And the PSP stuff, come to think of it.

But comparing this to ozone is like comparing apples & oranges. The only module in Ozone I actually use is the limiter + auto black dither, everything else in there is good (except that weird eq - those curves are not to my liking at all!) but there's better alternatives in both soft & hardware form. Most decent ME's use EQ, compression, clipping / limiting and most importantly (for loud records) - gain staging, when cutting a record. Everything else is superfluous really.
