Dave Smith Instruments Releases Mopho X4

After much speculation that a new, polyphonic synth was coming from DSI, we now know that to be the Mopho X4, a 4-voice polyphonic Mopho with a keyboard, and dedicated programming controls.  MSRP is said to be $1,299.

Isn't Mopho short for monophonic? So the name is essentially polyphonic monophonic?

Right off the bat, it's missing external audio input; I use this all the time on my Mopho Keys. Also, it would have been nice to have individual voice outputs like on the Tetra. There's also more panel room for knobs that wasn't taken advantage of; the shared knobs on the Mopho Keys sometimes gets irritating to me. This was a good opportunity missed to have a bit of an improvement while maintaining the same internal structure.

Also, it isn't yellow. Sadness.

they should have called it a Pho-mo like someone said on a forum

I would rather prefer the name "PoPho" than "PhoMo" but it's a matter of taste ;-)
