I made a used MMT-8 the heart of my setup for many years. I thought it was easy to use, and then once I got Logic I realized what a pain in the butt the MMT-8 was for some things such as editing. I was never a big fan of the rubber keypad either.
I picked up a one-sheet for an Alesis rack-based sequencer based on flash memory at an AES show around '99 or so. It was only a drawing and would've been cool to see produced.
