New Single from... David Lynch?!

Apparently not satisfied with only creeping us out via film, David Lynch has released a double a-side single entitled "Good Day Today / I Know" which is heavily electronic. "I Know" sounds the most like one of his films to me. I suppose this is not entirely surprising given the emphasis on music and sound design in Lynch's films, but I certainly wasn't expecting it. The single is digital-only is available on iTunes.

Yeah, he's always been musically inclined. From working closely with Angelo Badalamenti to creating much of the sounds for the Jocelyn Montgomery album to his Polish Night Music as well as The Air Is On Fire. And he also put out some songs prior to this release: Ghost Of Love and Imaginary Girl. It makes sense. Like you said, his films have always been driven by music and sound design. Which is probably why I love themas much as I do. :)

He used to write a lot of the music for Twin Peaks; such as Falling, the opening title. Good stuff.

Thanks for sharing these.

And, forgot to mention: he also recently collaborated with Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse. Plus, he's best buddies with Moby, which could explain the more electronic track.

wasn't expecting this either. And I must say while the second track really sounds like him, with the somehow unsettling timbre of the voice and the dreamy athmosphere, the first one really doesn't sound like him. Anyway, being a big fan of his movies this really is good news to me!

Not a big Lynch fan... in fact most of the time he just gives me a headache, but I found these two songs interesting. I think I liked the first one the best though. Thanks for posting!
