Free Electric Bass Samples For Kontakt
Pettinhouse, makers of the DirectBass sample collection for Native Instruments Kontakt, have made a special, free version available for people to give some of their sounds a try. They do accept donations, so if you download the free version and get a lot of use out of it, throw them a few bucks!

How does Kontakt work? Does it have its own file format or something? I guess what I'm asking is if I download this, is there any way to use the samplers with a different sampler?
*samples in that last sentence, sorry
The samples themselves are just WAV samples, and the Kontakt file holds all the info as to key and velocity mappings, etc. So technically you COULD use these with any sampler, but because there are multiple velocity layers and fancy stuff like that, it would probably be a pain to do...
Ah yea I see what you're saying. I may have to look into Kontakt. Right now all I'm running is the samplers that came with Live.
and do you want? you are using a Yamaha, to me the best instrument brand in the world, specially in this class of instrument and percution.
