Depeche Mode Premieres "Wrong" Live @ Echo Awards Berlin

Here's the first proper listen to the new single I've come across. It's not blowing me away, but I have a feeling it's going to grow on me. Certainly seems a dark, down tempo track to choose for a single! What's everyone think?

I like it. it has more energy than most of their late songs.. I hope the album will be at least this good.

I like it... I'm glad to see Fletch can twist a knob once in a while...though he may be faking it. LOL

The Virus TI was the only thing that impressed me :-(

Warped45 That was the filter cutoff knob he was twisting but I didnt hear it....makes me wonder.

Also, as I'm sure everyone noticed, this isn't live. I would know, I already have the single.

Tom (boy it's confusing to have two of us here... haha) - I actually really like the verses of Fragile Tension a lot, but the chorus seems sort of out of place. The stuff I've heard so far seems to be lacking in the really huge, catchy choruses...

Agreed Tom.

That was one thing I really noticed on Playing the Angel, especially on Suffer Well (my fave track off that album). I was expecting it to deliver more when it came to the chorus. I still sort of expect it to go somewhere different everytime I hear the line "sometimes it's hard..."

Same thing with this stuff, I'm just not being as forgiving. ;)

Hmmm....still not sure. I hope it will grow on me.

Aptly named...it may have been a mistake to release it as a single...I hope this is not one of the better songs from the album. Having said that, DM always seem to leave the strongest single for the second or third release.

underwhelmed me thinks...

it got better as it built, but i'm not sure. i was really excited by the studio clips, but this isn't what i expected.

was it my dodgy internet connection or did the vocals and the lips and the drums and the sticks not sync with the music at all in parts.

loved the Fletch knob twiddling though... what exactly was he doing???

As the last few DM releases...it takes a short amount of time to grow on me till I get to the point where I love it. need time to really hear all the little nuances of the song. but alas..it is DM, and I will always end up loving it in the end.

LineofControl - One of the big flaws with YouTube seems to be keeping video and audio in sync. I've seen the same thing happen on too many clips to mention.

TonyVerde - A blast from the past! How've you been?

the track leaves me wanting more...

but I'm fucking excited for the new record

Hey Tom.. yes a blast from the past from the old IB days! It has been what.. 10 years? amazing how I remember just about everyone from back then. I am doing great. I trust you are also.
