Sampletekk Releases Iconic 10cc "Choir" Sample

10cc's 1974 hit song "I'm Not In Love" was notable for many reasons, but what is perhaps most compelling about it is the artificial "choir" that plays throughout.  How was this possible in an era before sampling?  The band recorded several layers of vocals for each note in the scale and then "played" the part by fade channels in and out as necessary.  With "Inil Choir", Sampletekk has collaborated with 10cc's Eric Stewart to bring that iconic sound to your sampler.  The sample set retails for $49 and includes mappings for EXS-24, Kontakt, and Halion.

Interesting. I always thought it was a Mellotron. Now, I wonder why they decided against that route.

Hey Tom, don't mean to bug ya here, but can you re-up your massive patches? The links are dead from here & the Assemblage 23 site.

How about: they did not have one and could not afford one? Instead, they had plenty of time back then, and two 16-tracks they could abuse...
