...that the next episode of Vince Clarke's Analogue Monologues will be about the Synton Syrinx. The Syrinx was a fairly rare monosynth constructed by the Dutch company Synton, which also famously released a vocoder. I'm always fascinated to learn about rare instruments, mostly just out of curiosity about what they sound like. Much like Roland's seminal SH-101, the Syrinx was available in different colors. The black and blue were the most common, but towards the end of the synth's run, a red model was made. A small amount of purple "Titan" models are rumored to exist as well.In the meantime... check out these links:

Aphex Twin is rumoured to have used one of these rather extensively in the past (Selected Ambient Works 1 and 2 era).
ALthough in some of his later interviews he has often said that he makes things up during techie interviews to throw people off...that cheeky Mr James.
Coil had one too, if memory serves...
The closing step sequence on Depeche Mode's 'World Full Of Nothing' was the Syrinx I once read in an old magazine interview.
