Logic Users Relax: The Sky Isn't Falling..

Panic spread throughout the Logic users community over the weekend about the rumor that Apple may have chosen to abandon its professional DAW, Logic.  The rumor started on a ProTools-oriented blog called ProTools Expert.  The article claimed that Apple had "decimated" the Pro Audio Applications team in Europe.

As it turned out, all that was being decimated was a marketing department and the Pro Audio team was doing very fine, thank you.  As confirmation, the MacRumors website published a statement from Apple Product Marketing Chief Xander Soren who said:

"As the lead for our music creation apps, I always want to hear what our users are thinking. I want to assure you the team is still in place and hard at work on the next version of Logic Pro. "

You'd think Apple users would be used to false rumor after false rumor about the company's plans that they wouldn't fall for this so easily, but sometimes panic gets the best of us.

The thing is, even if they did discontinue it, the existing software isn't going to suddenly stop working. Silly people getting all worked up over nothing
