I don't fancy that analog detune trick much, especially in the early part, and the chorus needs distorted guitars instead of synth sounds.imho :-)
+1. Detune effect is a bit cheesy.
I always like NIN when it is less guitars and more piano/synth stuff, but colour me underwhelmed by this stuff... try "Right where it belongs" for some truly good music by him.
It sounds much better on Soundcloud, which reveals a huge amount of layers going on versus the YouTube clip. I like the song quite a bit.
