I found out that this is a stand alone program. Not an AU plug. You can import WAV files to the "tape recorders", as well as use them to record mixed out put of the oscillators.
The program is based around the type of equipment that would have been found in Cologne's WDR or Milano's RAI Phonology Studio's. It is not modeling a vintage sound, but a way of working.
