It's not terribly tough to program, but I'd recommend something with knobs to start with. It's just a much more pleasurable way of programming sounds, in my opinion. That said, you could do a lot worse for a first synth than the ESQ.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17737887998205375368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4040112777996013749.post-25034543616017422502009-04-03T14:55:00.000-07:002009-04-03T14:55:00.000-07:00wow really cool...if i could find one for $150 I'd...wow really cool...if i could find one for $150 I'd pick one up. I haven't delved into the world of hardware synths yet (I'm a late bloomer in this type of thing so I've only worked with soft synths). would this be a good starter, or would you recommend something different for a good starter synth? I'd like to get a nice analog with lots of knobs that i wouldn't have to sell my kidney for. Since i think it would be a lot easier to program then digital synths (I'm thinking of the micron particularly.)Darkmaerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09731367457648869147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4040112777996013749.post-7113776717400784302009-04-03T12:16:00.000-07:002009-04-03T12:16:00.000-07:00tom, as much as i love your appreciation for jexus...tom, as much as i love your appreciation for jexus's demos, we should really not talk about why the synths he uses are so cheap

that raises prices!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07241676843088219130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4040112777996013749.post-59320391234022381212009-04-03T09:28:00.000-07:002009-04-03T09:28:00.000-07:00I love the ESQ-1. The rest of the class had these more modern Yamaha digital synths, and I got saddled witht he beat-up old Ensoniq. I was disappointed until I heard it. At the moment, it looks like the only synth of this model on eBay is at $500, though.D Smootzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06072646740323502536noreply@blogger.com
